About the Job:
Blue Bottle Coffee is looking for a skilled and motivated Demand & Supply Specialist to join our US Supply Chain team. This role reports to the Manager, Demand and Supply Planning within the Supply Chain organization and is responsible for developing and managing a robust Cafe Allocation framework and process, analyzing SKU-level inventory levels in order to maximize sales and improve inventory productivity across all locations.
Our Supply Chain teams are actively engaged in supporting our business teams in successfully delivering to our guests day in and day out. You will be responsible for omni-channel allocation including our warehouses and retail cafes. Additionally, you will support the execution of high-quality forecasts that incorporate historical data, business insight, and cross-functional inputs in order to elevate Blue Bottle’s ability to share delicious experiences with our guests.
This scope will span the full range of merchandise and supplies, with the goals of enabling product availability, smooth operations, and optimizing supply and inventory. This is a highly integrated and connective position and you will bring your collaboration capabilities to ensure successful work with stakeholders across our Cafe, Ecommerce, and CPG channels.
The Supply Chain group is a core piece of our Operations organization driving local and global processes, key strategic initiatives, and building the Supply frameworks needed to deliver our strategic plans. It is focused on ensuring we have the right things, in the right place and at the right moment to help our teams succeed - and all while looking for continuous process and economic improvement and keeping our exceptionally high quality. You will:
- Build Cafe Allocation Tools and continuously strive for efficient improvements around this new process to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and support sales for US Market (75+ Cafes)
- Manage inventory levels by location + tiers and develop inventory requirements by store + tiers utilizing analysis of geographic store performance and regional volumes. Develop min and max levels per sku and develop new release and replenishment category models
- Understand inventory level turns based on cafe-level capacity constraints, seasonality, and promotions
- Assess daily and weekly data to monitor trends and determine optimal flow allocation of supplies to support cafe channel operations and minimize stockouts
- Set performance benchmarks and actively measure results using data from data systems and tools, monitoring trends in deviations from forecast and driving corrective action - additionally, manage metrics for continuous improvement across the end-to-end business process
- Partner with Supply Chain to balance inventory across our regional warehouse centers and roasteries
- Build positive team relationships to inspire trust and teamwork - partnering with Cafe Operations, Retail, Online, Accounting, PPM, and Product Managers to drive results
You are:
- Able to plan and organize a complex task or project from start to finish, detail-oriented, comfortable synthesizing both quantitative and qualitative data
- Comfortable balancing and compiling multiple data systems
- Proactive and always looking for improvement opportunities
- Team player but can also work independently
- A clear and effective communicator in your conversations, written communications, and presentations
- Exceptionally curious and interested in learning, comfortable with ambiguity and moving forward despite uncertainty
- Takes ownership and accountability of role
- Ability to multi-task and handle many competing demands, prioritizing and clearly communicating needs and timelines with your manager and stakeholders
You have:
- 2+ years of experience in order management, replenishment and allocation (ideally with CPG or Retail company)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP, WMS, Sales data systems (Netsuite, Coupa, BI Dashboards preferred)
- Experience in managing and supporting end-to-end business processes and helping teams use them productively
- Proven ability to understand and apply retail math, planning, and forecasting processes, and financial metrics
- Strong analytical acumen and skill set, including the ability to recognize trends and patterns within a large and complex data set
- Exceptionally clear and compelling verbal, visual, and written communication skills in English
- Last but not least, a deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional guest experiences

- This is an hourly non-exempt position with a minimum rate of $25/hr. This salary is a good-faith estimate for this position. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, which include a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate
Physical requirements:
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs and standing occur in this role
- Environment: This role is protected within a building, but may be exposed to mild changes in temperature with heating or air conditioning
This role requires travel up to 5%. Additional walking, stooping, sitting, and mobility may be required. Exposure to outside environmental elements may be experienced due to travel through airports, airplanes, and in between facilities
