McCain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by McCain Foods.
Position Summary:
Coordinates employees in the packaging department while carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Operates Packaging Department as needed in Supervisor’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes labor for the packaging area.
- Optimizes packaging opportunities.
- Plans for rework of held and restricted product.
- Organizes and plan rework of totes products in the cold room.
- Communicates with Packaging QA and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Communicates with Packaging and Processing Supervisors to ensure decisions are made in a timely and cost effective manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as an Operator in a potato processing facility is a plus.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
