Pay starting at $19.00 per hour.Position Summary Description:
Unloads incoming freight and separates pallets by Island or Warehouse. Loads containers for delivery to the port. Responsible for ensuring containers are loaded accurately. Ensures product integrity and quality standards for pallets are met before loading.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates a pallet jack or forklift to unload incoming shipments.
- Verifies incoming shipments match the packing list.
- Scans paperwork to FCS.
- Applies FCS pallet tags to incoming shipments.
- Utilizes sailing chart to ensure that pallets are loaded into the proper container.
- Operates pallet jack or forklift to load products into containers for shipping.
- Checks product quality and minimizes damage prior to loading.
- Confirm pallets are stacked according to company standards.
- Notifies supervisors of any damages or discrepancies in orders immediately.
- Ensures all products are free from improper or unsafe stacking.
- Follows established safety standards for proper food handling.
- Responsible for general housekeeping in the loading docks and warehouse.
- Performs similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Uses the Company’s Mission/Vision Statements and Core Values as their guiding principles.
Education/Training and Experience
- Six months to one year experience of distribution or warehouse experience, preferably in the food service industry.
- Must be proficient in the English language and communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form.
- Must understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to perform basic to moderately difficult mathematical functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averaging and percentages.
- Must be able to successfully complete in-house forklift certification test.
