This is a limited term role for 26 weeks (6 months).

This is a work from home role and candidate must live in one of the Sutter approved states and be able to come on site if needed for meetings, etc.
Approved states are: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.

Functions as an experienced professional, providing strategic, analytical and/or technical support in developing, implementing and/or administering compensation programs, ensuring practices and programs are market competitive, comply with plan design and applicable laws and regulations. Performs a variety of data and job analyses, identifies trends and business impacts, and recommends proactive actions/solutions/changes. Prepares for salary planning and labor contract negotiations, analyzing and evaluating internal and external data, and making sound recommendations.

Job Description:

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESSalary Planning and Administration• Consults, implements and/or administers a variety compensation programs or processes.• Designs, implements and/or executes effective internal controls to ensure integrity of data, and effective administration of base and variable pay.• Researches and analyzes market data, and economic and wage projections, including costs and business impacts leading into annual planning cycle, and makes recommendations for the setting of budgets and pay structure adjustments.• Administers tools and resources used for the focal cycle processes.• Collaborates with other Human Resources (HR) teams to ensure processes are completed/delivered as scheduled.Analytical and Technical Support• Provides consultation and/or guidance on compensation needs and issues.• Evaluates and analyzes workforce related data, pay practices and compression/equity issues, developing recommendations to maintain internal equity and market competitiveness.• Reviews, compiles and analyzes survey/benchmark data, makes observations, prepares cost analyses, reports or presentations, and makes sound and proactive recommendations to support compensation strategy and/or labor contract negotiations.Job Evaluation• Evaluates job descriptions to determine appropriate title, incentive eligibility, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status, and salary range.• Develops and presents recommendations to HR Business Partner and requesting manager. Escalates to Center of Expertise for review and final decision, if needed.• Ensures appropriate job data is accurately entered into HR information system.Projects• Provides analytical support for mergers and acquisitions, restructures or involuntary transfers, identifying differences in positions, programs, etc., and making recommendations to align with compensation and overall business objectives.• Assists in the review of policies, procedures, processes, reference materials, and/or plan documents, making updates as appropriate.• Assists with communication and education, including knowledge management materials.Performance Management and Continuous Improvement• Seeks and responds to regular performance feedback.• Supports and assists the team when necessary.• Contributes ideas and actions toward continuous improvement of processes and workflows.• Recognizes and communicates potential issues to appropriate leader.EDUCATIONEquivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.Bachelor's: Human Resources, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or related field or equivalent education/experiencePREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:2 years experience with a progressive responsibility in developing, implementing and/or administering compensation programs.2 years experience with evaluating job descriptions using quantitative or non-quantitative methods.2 years experience with completing compensation surveys.2 years experience with MarketPay or similar online market data resources.2 years experience with HR information systems.2 years experience using Excel or similar spreadsheet applications, manipulating data, making format changes, and creating basic functions/formulas and pivot tables.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of compensation terminology and labor market trends.Knowledge of FLSA, and applicable wage and hour laws and regulations.Ability to understand the strategic and business needs of the system, operating unit and affiliate.Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical and statistical calculations.Ability to communicate through verbal and written means.Organization skills and attention to details.Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze trends/issues and to recommend solid solutions.Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.Demonstrates ability to influence others by persuasion, problem solving or using data.Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely.Ability to establish credibility, and to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.Demonstrates respect for cultural and linguistic differences and promotes an inclusive work environment.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.Ability to maintain and work discreetly with confidential information.Ability to use essential applications and/or databases associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.
